A Red-Letter Day for Sami!

Today one of our longest-serving volunteers, the amazing Sami, celebrated exactly one year since she joined the team. (Yes, there was cake!)

Sami has blossomed during her time with us. Would you believe she had never held a reptile before? Now she happily showcases pythons and lizards during Reptile Experience. She’s formed special bonds with our parrots and even brings out a prickly echidna to meet visitors during Roving Rangers.

Of course Sami also works with rangers behind the scenes, servicing enclosures and preparing food. We are so grateful for all her help, and in turn Sami says she’s proud to be an integral member of our Billabong family.
